Google Advertising Programs

Google has two advertising programs. As shown above, affiliate marketers can create AdWords advertising campaigns to have their ads shown on the right side of the search results. The affiliate chooses how much to Pay-Per_Click when the campaign is setup. This is an effective advertising tool if used properly, but this page is about AdSense where google pays you to advertise.

AdSense

AdSense is a contextual advertising program. This means that the adsense generator creates ads that are relevant to your site. Google pays you each time someone clicks on one of your Adsense ads. The sites shown on the left side of the google search results are free listings, the web sites indexed by google. This is where your web site would be shown unless you advertised using AdWords.

When signing up for an Adsense account you’ll need to agree not to click on your own links. There is a lot of click fraud on the internet and Google is quick to catch them. Google will ban your account as quick as a flash if you click on your own links even if it is by mistake. So be careful and play fair if you want a good relationship with Google.

The google adsense payout varies based on the vendor, but it can be anywhere from 10 cents to 50 cents or more per click. You won’t get rich from using AdSense but it is free money. If you have a web site or blog, why not monetize it. There are techniques to optimize your ads to get a good Click-Through Rate such as the location of the ads and the color scheme you use to blend in the ads.

Eventually when you start advertising products on your site, you may not want to use AdSense advertising as these ads will compete with your ads.

Another thing you will be able to do is request reports to track your earnings.

AdSense Generator

The AdSense generator for lack of a better term creates ads based on the setup that you choose. The setups are as follows:

mybullet1 AdSense for Content. Display ads that are targeted to your site’s content or audience. Up to three Ad units and three Link units are allowed per page.

Text ads, image ads or a combination of the two are offered in various sizes, but here are examples of a text ad and an image banner ad to give you an idea what they look like and to show you that they are relevant to the content of this web page.

If you look at the top right side of this web page, you’ll see that I use the Adsense for Search feature on this site. Not only does it make it convenient for your visitors to search google should they want to, but you make money in the process.
mybullet1 AdSense for Feeds. Place relevant ads in feeds Google manages for you.
mybullet1 AdSense for Domains. Display ads on your parked domains.
mybullet1 AdSense for Mobile Content. Unlock the revenue potential of your mobile site with targeted Google ads.
